ABOUT US
ABOUT US
OUR PURPOSE STATEMENT
To glorify God by leading people to Jesus and a commitment to His family,
so they become like Christ and are equipped to do their ministry.
To put simply: Together We Worship, We Grow Deeper & We Serve
OUR MISSION
Together we are a community of believers. What does that mean, the word community? We believe that together in fellowship we grow closer to God and one another. The bible speaks about iron sharpening iron. We believe that together we grow stronger. We are a community of believers.
OUR VISION
We strive to be a church without walls. Jesus calls for us to go outside the walls to reach the lost and the broken. It is there that the lost will be found. Most churches find it is comfortable to stay within the walls, but we make it an effort to be like the church from the book of Acts, to see our city changed.
OUR VALUES
We highly value our relationships with one another. We look to grow through friendships, small groups where we can learn together, outreach/missions where we can serve together, which ultimately helps us to grow closer to God. We value the word of God, and the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We look to extend grace to all of the lost and broken, and lead those with no hope to the hope of Jesus Christ.
OUR HISTORY
SMALL BEGINNINGS
Norwood Baptist Church RI was founded over 130 years ago in the Norwood section of Warwick, Rhode Island.
Neighbors came together for prayer, bible studies, fellowship and outreach. Even though the building has changed, the foundation & key principles of the Norwood Baptist Church RI community has not.
NBCRI is the neighborhood church that extends itself beyond it's doors into the community, state and globally.
We trust His word, follow His lead and honor Him above all.
• The Bible is the inspired word of God and is the final authority in life and doctrine.
- 2 TIMOTHY 3:16
• There is one God, eternally existing in three co-equal Persons, namely the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- ROMANS 8; EPHESIANS 1:13-14
• God, out of love for His children, sent His son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, and to rise from the dead.
- 1 CORINTHIANS 15:1-8
• Salvation is a free gift of God. The death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. All have sinned, but all can be saved. This salvation is available for any who put their trust in Christ as Savior and follow Him as Lord.
- ROMANS 3:23, 6:23; JOHN 3:16
• Those trusting Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith, and be baptized.
- ROMANS 10:9; ACTS 2:38
• The church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and discipling the saved, helping them become fully devoted followers of Christ.
- EPHESIANS 4:1-16
• Christ will one day return and reign forever.
- 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18
• When we die, we will either be separated from God by sin or united with Him eternally through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.
